





Directed by Danish filmmaker and screenwriter Tobias Lindholm, the chilling drama The Good Nurse tells the true story of Charles Cullen, a hospital nurse whose countless crimes went undetected for years. ICU nurse Amy Loughren discovers her kind new colleague Charlie — who’s selflessly helping her manage her life and family — is hiding a deadly side to his personality. As she begins to suspect his involvement in a mysterious death at the New Jersey hospital where they work, she and the detectives pursuing the case face myriad challenges within the hospital and the health-care system at large.

Amy, who suffers from a severe heart condition, works the demanding night shift at Parkfield Hospital in New Jersey. Despite her doctor’s orders to slow down, Amy can’t — she needs the money and doesn’t yet qualify for health insurance, despite working in a hospital. Thankfully, when new nurse Charlie is hired and the two become close, he helps take some of the stress off his friend, even offering to take her shifts and watch her two young daughters. But when Amy slowly realizes something is off with Charlie, she risks everything to stop him.
The Good Nurse takes place in New Jersey.
The Good Nurse is based on the true-crime story of ICU nurse Charles Cullen, as depicted in Charles Graeber’s 2013 book, The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness and Murder. The documentary film about the investigation into Cullen, Capturing the Killer Nurse, premieres on Netflix Nov. 11.
