Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Will Return for a Third and Final Season

“Next season you start to see Kimmie step fully into her power with all of the support she needs.”

    March 19, 2026

After that stunner of a Season 2 finale, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) certainly isn’t alone anymore on her road to power in Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black. That’ll only continue when the series returns for Season 3, the final season. Rest assured, y’all — waiting for the last chapter of the Beauty in Black saga “will be worth it,” promises Williams.

“By the end of Season 2, the entire power structure shifts,” says the actor. “Part 2 is really the moment Kimmie stops surviving and starts playing the game. And once she does that … nobody in the Bellarie family is safe.”

And let’s all remember: the fan-favorite series was renewed for Season 3 before Part 2 of Season 2 even premiered. Since Season 1, we’ve watched underdog Kimmie go from dancing for survival in a Chicago strip club to sitting at the head of the table as chief operating officer of the hair-care empire Beauty in Black in Season 2. Now, we’ll see how her story wraps up in the upcoming third season.

What happens in Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 2?

This article contains major character or plot details.

Season 2 of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black ended with a team up that’s been two seasons in the making. Kimmie, the HBIC (Head Bellarie in Charge) of the Beauty in Black hair-care empire, calls a board meeting to order with none other than queen bee Mallory (Crystle Stewart) by her side. Her former rival has now become her unlikely ally.

“When I read that in the script I was like, finally!” says Williams. “Kimmie and Mallory have spent the whole season circling each other, but they’re also two of the smartest players in the room.

But that’s not all — Kimmie’s now-healthy new husband, Horace (Ricco Ross), arrives to complete this unlikely trio and bring the hammer down on his greedy family. “A lot of truths come to light, and the characters start realizing that the game they’ve been playing is even bigger and more dangerous than they thought,” says Stewart of the explosive finale boardroom meeting.

With the help of Attorney Varney (Terrell Carter), they turn Horace’s entitled sons, Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), his dodgy brother, Norman (Richard Lawson), and his resentful ex-wife, Olivia (Debbi Morgan), over to the FBI for their nefarious business dealings.

“What I love about those final episodes is that they leave the audience at a moment where everything feels like it’s about to explode,” says Stewart. “Alliances are shifting, motivations are being revealed, and the characters are forced to confront the consequences of the choices they’ve made.”

Now that they’ve come for the bad influences in the Bellarie brood once and for all, that leaves us guessing …

What will happen in Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3?

In Season 3, you start to see Kimmie “step fully into her power with all of the support she needs,” Williams teases. Now that the former dancer has power, “the final six episodes answer the question of, can she maintain it?”

In fact, the end of Season 2 raises the stakes and sets the stage for an even bigger Season 3. “The tension, the drama, and the power struggles are only going to deepen from here,” says Stewart, “and viewers are going to see these characters pushed further than ever before.”

There’s also the gnawing worry of how far Bellarie head of security (and Kimmie’s former boss) Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield) will go to learn the truth about his son’s death. “Grief can be relentless,” warns Williams. “When someone is carrying that kind of pain, they don’t stop asking questions.”

What is the release date for Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3?

“Have no fear, we have one more part!” reassures Williams. Season 3 is coming soon to Netflix. In the meantime, catch up on all the chaos in Season 2 of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, which is now streaming. And keep coming back to Tudum for more updates on the Bellarie family’s scheming.
