🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐

Did you get to the series finale of Manifest and still have one unanswered question: What the heck happened to Captain Daly (Frank Deal)? Well, Tudum has a bonus scene that reveals the pilot’s fate — but, be warned, it might leave you with even more questions.

In “Final Boarding,” the 828 passengers return to 2013 — complete with their memories from the past five and a half years — and reunite with their loved ones who have no clue what they’ve experienced. MIA, however, are the doomed 828ers who imploded on the death date after being punished for their selfish, harmful actions. (We’ll miss ya, Angelina.)

In the bonus scene, NSA director Robert Vance (Daryl Edwards) — who does not know anything about what passengers went through — is called to the airport to investigate the missing passengers and boards Flight 828. Co-pilot Amuta (Leajato Robinson) insists he was alone flying the plane, but the cockpit is locked from the inside.

Vance appeals to whoever is inside to open up, but only hears moans through the door. After a technician opens the door, Vance and the authorities see Captain Daly — who was killed in Season 4’s “Fata Morgana” episode in the 2024 timeline — in distress. They watch him implode, much like the irredeemable passengers did earlier in the episode, unable to grasp what they just witnessed.

“We wrote the Daly scene as an end tag, but that happy ending felt just right on its own,” Manifest creator Jeff Rake previously told Tudum. “So releasing the Daly scene after the fact made the most sense. The fans needed their Daly closure!”

Captain Daly’s implosion suggests he wasn’t found worthy of resurrection by the divine consciousness and therefore didn’t deserve the second chance most of the other passengers received — which is surprising considering he seemed to be a good person deep down.

“Any good show leaves with a little bit of, ‘But wait!’ ” Manifest star Melissa Roxburgh, who plays Michaela, tells Tudum. “And either gives the audience a chance to keep thinking about the show, even though it’s not on anymore, or gives them a chance to do [more].”
