Kick into Justin Chien and Sam Song Li’s Original Chemistry Read Tape

In this never-before-seen The Brothers Sun chemistry read, the fierce Charles Sun (Justin Chien) is explaining the inner workings of his Taiwanese family’s infamous triad syndicate. The elder Sun describes the criminal masterminds as a swarm of hornets.

But his brother Bruce (Sam Song Li) doesn’t love that metaphor. “I don’t want to be a hornet,” he says. “Hornets are jerks. Can we be more like bumble bees? No one is afraid of them and they get to have sex with the flowers.”

The tension is palpable as the two actors focus their stares, sweating a little at the brow and trying their best not to burst into laughter. Like his character, Chien keeps it together, stone-faced even when he’s describing Charles’ bowel power. But Li loses it at least once. Watch the video to see when he breaks.
