It’s a new month, which means it’s time for a wild new adventure. Head deep inside the animal kingdom with Swapped, the animated family film where a tiny woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a regal bird (voiced by Juno Temple) must switch bodies — and perspectives. Then get deeper in the wilds with Lord of the Flies, about a group of schoolboys who crash-land on a tropical island, where their attempts to survive are threatened by the lure of their darkest instincts. The four-part adaptation of William Golding’s dystopian classic is adapted for television by Jack Thorne (Adolescence, Enola Holmes).
The new movies and shows on Netflix this week also include the British crime drama series Legends, the Gerard Butler heist flick Den of Thieves, the beloved dinosaur story The Land Before Time, and the Julia Roberts globe-trotting tale Eat Pray Love.
