Calling all hopeless romantics: Jennifer E. Smith’s novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is getting a screen adaptation from the producers of the To All the Boys franchise, and it’s guaranteed to be every bit as swoon-worthy as the original pages.

Starring Haley Lu Richardson of Unpregnant and 6 Underground’s Ben Hardy, the story follows strangers Hadley and Oliver whose paths cross on a flight from New York to London. It seems as though fate has brought them together because sparks instantly fly, but upon touching ground, they lose track of each other in the midst of airport chaos. As the official summary adds, “The probability of ever finding each other again seems impossible, but love — and London — may have a way of defying the odds.”

Directed by Vanessa Caswill of the Little Women miniseries, Love at First Sight also stars Rob Delaney, Dexter Fletcher, Sally Phillips and Jameela Jamil. To All the Boys: Always and Forever’s Katie Lovejoy penned the screenplay. The screen adaptation continues Netflix’s partnership with ACE, which also produced the upcoming YA feature Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight was first published in 2013 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. It was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times calling it “a gorgeous, heartwarming reminder of the power of fate.”
