Derry Girls

The coming-of-age sitcom Derry Girls, created by Lisa McGee, follows five tight-knit friends in Northern Ireland during the period of political unrest known as the Troubles. Despite the turmoil happening around them, the teenage posse — comprised of Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and lone Brit James (Dylan Llewellyn) — find ways to make their own fun … which, more often than not, lands them in hot water with their Catholic school headmistress.

Cunk On Earth

Take a tour through the history of civilization in the mockumentary Cunk on Earth. The series stars British comedian Diane Morgan as the deadpan Philomena Cunk, a presenter who takes viewers along on fact-finding expeditions to historical sites and sit-down chats with philosophers and academics. All the while, Cunk asks her subjects extremely tough questions, like “Did the printing press actually change anything of significance?”

Crashing

Before Fleabag, there was Crashing — writer-creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s first comedy series, starring Waller-Bridge, Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), and Damien Molony (Brassic). The one-season show centers around six twentysomethings who live in a former hospital in exchange for low rent — and serve as the building’s property managers. Love, sex, and chaos ensue.
