This summer, Dakota Johnson is trading her Lost Daughter strappy bikinis for bonnets and frills in Persuasion, available on Netflix July 15. She plays Anne Elliot, Jane Austen’s oldest heroine who, at 27, finds herself living with her insufferable relatives and pining after a lost love. And by the looks of these pictures, the July heat won’t be the only thing making you sweat.

Persuasion is based on Austen’s sixth and final novel of the same name, published six months after her death in 1817. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, the adaptation also stars Cosmo Jarvis, Henry Golding, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce and Richard E. Grant.

Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliot.
“Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne Elliot is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities,” the official synopsis reads. “When Frederick Wentworth (Jarvis) — the dashing one she let get away — crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.”
