Man on Fire, Ladies First, and More New Netflix Trailers

Get a look at the Big Mouth team’s new animal kindgom–inspired series, Mating Season, and more.

New situations can make for strange bedfellows. If you’re mercenary John Creasy (played by Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) in the new drama series Man on Fire, that might mean going head-to-head with other trained killers as you try to save a young woman from certain death. But if you’re Sacha Baron Cohen’s philanderer Damien Sachs in the upcoming comedy flick Ladies First, it might mean that your “punchable face” is prepped for a right hook from Rosamund Pike’s hypercapable Alex Fox.

The trailers for both debuted alongside new previews of a variety of upcoming shows and movies this week. They include Nemesis, a series from the creator of Power about two men entangled in a jewel-encrusted cat-and-mouse game that could ruin them both, and Mating Season, another raunchy animated comedy from the creators of Big Mouth.

Man on Fire

Based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series, Man on Fire stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (First Match) as John Creasy, a skilled Special Forces soldier turned mercenary, who’s known for surviving even the most dangerous of situations. Creasy, battered and bruised, is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever to save his friend Rayburn’s (Bobby Cannavale) daughter, Poe (Billie Boullet), after she witnesses a horrific crime. This action-packed drama series also stars Alice Braga (Samantha!), Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico), and Thomás Aquino (Criminal Code).

The men are back — and they’re more confused than ever. Ivo (Benja Bruijning), Danny (Waldemar Torenstra), Mike (Jeroen Spitzenberger), and Greg (André Dongelmans) are four friends trying to adapt to a world they don’t understand, while keeping their relationships and careers intact. But despite the hardships, they’ll keep trying (and failing) again and again in this Dutch comedy series that also stars Eva Laurenssen (Hein) and Jennifer Hoffman (All Inclusive).

Ladies First

When a high-powered business exec and infamous ladies man (Sacha Baron Cohen) takes a blow to the head, he wakes up to find himself living in a parallel world dominated by women. With the rules of engagement changed, he goes head-to-head with a fiery female colleague (Rosamund Pike) who’s taken his job in this playful satire about what happens when traditional power dynamics get flipped. This English-language comedy, directed by Thea Sharrock (The Beautiful Game), is an adaptation based on writer-director Eléonore Pourriat’s French film I Am Not an Easy Man.
