In almost five years of Love on the Spectrum, there have been plenty of heartwarming and heartbreaking moments — from the performance of a tender ballad about gummy bears to the experience of being friend-zoned at a Renaissance fair.
After the debut of Season 4, which is streaming now, and seven Emmy Awards, the critically acclaimed series is officially returning for another season.

In Season 5, Love on the Spectrum will follow a group of neurodivergent daters as they navigate the confusing world of relationships. By learning the inexplicable rules of dating (rule No. 1: don’t say “I love you” on the first date) and embracing the many intricacies of communication styles and sensory sensitivities, the romantic hopefuls offer an unfiltered look at life and love on the spectrum.

Representing the experiences of neurodivergent daters is a responsibility Cian O’Clery, executive producer and co-creator of the series, doesn’t take lightly. “The most important thing we can do with this series is to introduce audiences to a diverse range of autistic people, telling their stories in their own voices,” he has told Tudum.
As the series enters its seventh season overall, including two seasons of Love on the Spectrum: Australia, there are still so many more love stories to tell.
This past season, newcomers pushed themselves out of their comfort zones (and broke up with imaginary girlfriends) to find real connection. Fan favorites like Madison got the happily ever after she always dreamed of with her cowboy sweetheart and now-fiancé, Tyler. And James found his soul mate, Shelley. The two recently purchased a home together.
