    Bless her heart!

    Oct. 27, 2025

Start whipping up your Jell-O salads, because Leanne Morgan’s comedy series Leanne will return for a second season.

“We’re coming back for a second season!” says Morgan. “I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast, and especially for all the fans of the show.  Y’all did this for us, and we can’t wait to be back!”

Adds Chuck Lorre, co-creator and executive producer: “Much thanks and gratitude to Netflix for this amazing opportunity,” he says. “Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being, and an absolute joy to work with.”

Inspired by her stand-up, the 16-episode multi-camera comedy series premiered July 31, debuting in Netflix’s Global Top 10. The sitcom follows Leanne (Morgan) as her world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter, and hope in the most unexpected places. This heartfelt comedy proves that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.

The series is co-created and executive produced by Susan McMartin, Chuck Lorre, and Leanne Morgan. Nick Bakay and Judi Marmel also serve as executive producers. The cast includes Morgan, Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers, Hannah Pilkes, Tim Daly, Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez, and Blake Gibbons. Leanne comes from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Since the start of 2023, Morgan’s I’m Every Woman has been Netflix’s most-viewed stand-up special from a female comedian globally.

If you can’t get enough of the Grandmama from Tennessee, Morgan’s highly anticipated Netflix special Unspeakable Things will premiere globally on Netflix on Nov. 4. This is the comedian’s second hourlong Netflix stand-up special, and the first of an additional two specials headed to Netflix. You can also learn more about Morgan’s inspirational story in her memoir, What in the World?! A Southern Woman's Guide to Laughing at Life's Unexpected Curveballs and Beautiful Blessings.
