Class is back in session at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school. Could this finally be Trina Vega’s (Daniella Monet) chance to step out of her sister’s shadow and into the spotlight? Find out when Hollywood Arts debuts on Netflix Oct. 15.

In the Season 1 trailer, Trina, the overlooked yet overly confident older sister of Tori Vega (Victoria Justice) from Nickelodeon’s teen sitcom Victorious, which aired from 2010 to 2013, returns to her former high school as an unqualified substitute teacher. But even without the proper training to help talented students reach their full potential, the struggling actor knows that the show must go on. Distracted by her own aspirations, Trina first finds herself clashing with a new generation of ambitious teens. As the school year goes on, however, she may unexpectedly inspire her students as they attempt to blaze a path to stardom.

As previously announced, Alyssa Miles, Erika Swayze, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, and Martin Kamm join Monet in the main cast. The trailer, which you can watch above, introduces more rising stars into the Victorious universe, including Kira Kosarin, Lexi Rivera, Sofie Dossi, and Taylen Biggs.

“I'm so excited for the world to see this cast and how talented they are,” Monet says. She’s not the only one reprising her Victorious role. Yvette Nicole Brown returns as recurring character Principal Helen Dubois, Eric Lange  guest stars as acting teacher Erwin Sikowitz, and Matt Bennett plays fellow Hollywood Arts alum and ventriloquist Robbie Shapiro.

According to Monet, this next chapter in the Victorious universe has something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of the original series or new to the Hollywood Arts campus. “I’m proud of what we made,” she says. “We worked really hard. It’s funny. It’s all the things I wanted it to be, and I always kept in mind the original audience throughout the entire process.”

And that earworm you can’t get out of your head? That’s “Here To Stay”, the theme song, available now. The official soundtrack, Hollywood Arts (Soundtrack from the series) will be released Oct. 15th via Republic Records: Kids & Family, alongside the series premiere on Netflix. Featuring 16 original songs from the series, the soundtrack showcases a new generation of singers, dancers, comedians, and performers through upbeat pop anthems, emotional ballads, and standout ensemble numbers. Led by the uplifting first single, the soundtrack is filled with the songs that define the first season and introduce a new generation of performers.

Monet, who also serves as an executive producer on the Paramount Television Studios series alongside Samantha Martin, Jake Farrow, Shauna Phelan, and Jonathan Judge, says she was guided by a core question throughout the show’s production: “How do we appeal to [the original audience] while still opening up to the entire masses?” Viewers will get the answer when classes commence in the premiere of Hollywood Arts Oct. 15 on Netflix.
