Anyone spending a holiday at home knows that family time can be tough. In a new comedy from McG (The Babysitter films, Rim of the World), the Walker family is going to take bonding to a whole new level. In Family Switch, Jennifer Garner (13 Going on 30) and Ed Helms (The Hangover) play parents Jess and Bill, who are struggling to keep their family close as their children grow up.
Fortunately, the Walkers are about to get a whole lot closer, courtesy of a mysterious astrological reader. Unfortunately, this opportune lesson couldn’t come at a more inopportune time. But the universe doesn’t care about convenience; one morning, the family wakes up in the middle of one of those classic body-swap situations. And with each member of the family preparing for a different life-changing event (a promotion, a college interview, a record deal and a soccer tryout), they’ll have to work together if they ever want to wake up in their own bodies again.
McG is also working on the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Uglies, starring Joey King and Laverne Cox. Family Switch is written by Adam Sztykiel (Black Adam, Scoob!, Made of Honor) from a screenplay by Victoria Strouse, inspired by Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s book Bedtime for Mommy.
